Ok, you got this, you can explain to the Moon why it needs to go back into the sky. You point out that the Moon's function and nature is to orbit. That is what moons do. It goes without saying it can only flourish as a moon when it *is* a moon. A moon partying in the desert is no longer a moon and so would stop existing as such. In fact, now that the Moon has started partying you both can see that it is already starting to disappear. The Moon is waning right before your eyes. It was a full circle not long ago, but it’s already lost a visible slice of itself. Well, you certainly can't explain that slow disappearance in any other way. It must be because the Moon has lost its sense of purpose. The Moon thanks you for saving it from disappearing fully before it heads back into orbit, and while you didn't quite make it to the show you wanted to, you did throw a great party and saved the Moon from waning into nothing, and that's always nice.
