The solution is, of course, to power the elephant by having everyone pitch in to perceive it as powered. You explain to everyone working around you that since objects are not just sensed but also interpreted, it's actually easier to change every mind in the world to understand that the elephant has already powered up. Swayed by your argument, the camp helps you construct a mass experience-interpretation-modifying antenna that broadcasts a signal to all consciousnesses around. Soon, you're all experiencing partying with the elephant. In fact, the elephant turns out to be so entertaining, you forget all about the show tonight and just enjoy a great evening hosted by the pachyderm. The unexpected ease with which reality itself, or rather our experience of it, was changed by you and this camp doesn't really bother you, but somewhere far away it bothers someone else. A strange watchful creature in a lab coat working a late nightshift monitoring our reality frowns and makes a note in red pen on its clipboard.
