You 'explain' that you got this sword as a gift and you totally didn't mean to try and stab the monster, and hey, does the monster maybe know how to get back out and maybe give you a quick lift back to your tent? With a sigh, the monster agrees, and you hop on its back. After cruising around the event (at a slow and reasonable speed) you successfully locate your tent, thank the monster, and crawl in for a good morning's sleep.
