You hurl the aludel at the monster and the aludel shatters on contact with its tough skin. The monster stares at you in confusion.

"Why did you throw that?" the monster asks.

"Um..." you confidently reply.

"Didn't you realize that would happen? Don't you know what it was?".

"Well..." you begin.

"Fine.” The monster says. “Look, this isn't complex at all and has to do with states of matter. Let me show you..."

And as the hours go by and the monster explains the fundamentals of alchemy to you, you find yourself enraptured by the learning and decide this is your calling. You end up moving in with the monster and become an apprentice alchemist under its wise tutelage.
