Instead of just recording the more-than-perfect beat, you and the scorpion realize that what would be really valuable would be to sit down and figure out how the beat is made, that way you can recreate it. You quickly start disassembling the humming and buzzing saucer to try and figure out how each component interacts, but soon notice the relationship between them affects their sound. As you move them closer and further apart the pieces resonate differently in subtle ways. In moments, you realize that the more-than-perfect beat is gone and cannot be reconstructed again, but as you search for it you also realize maybe you never needed the beat. It was actually more important to learn how to manipulate this as an instrument and learn to create your own beats. In a way, the real more-than-perfect beat was the weird noises you learned to make along the way.
